Natural, Non-toxic, Environmentally Friendly
100% natural latex is resilient and naturally resistant to mold, mildew, bacteria and dust mites. Only air, natural soap and natural vulcanization (curing) agents are used in processing Pure-Rest's latex, tapped from the Hevea Brasiliensis—commonly known as a rubber tree—which grows on plantations in Southeast Asia. Unlike synthetic rubber made from petroleum, natural rubber is an excellent environmental choice. It's a renewable resource, there are no toxic substances or ozone-depleting agents used in manufacturing it, and rubber plantations help combat the greenhouse effect!

Pure Wool is Wonderful
The organically-grown wool used in Pure-Rest mattresses is washed with only water and vegetable-based soaps—no detergents, chemicals or chlorine bleach are used. It's processed without the use of oils or bonding agents, and retains 4-6% lanolin which protects the mattress from moisture, dust mites and bed bugs. With the exception of the vegan mattress, Pure-Rest mattresses meet or exceed the stringent 2005/2007 California and Federal flame retardancy standards...without the addition of flame retardant chemicals!

Warranties
Pure-Rest mattresses are expertly crafted by hand with totally pure fibers to produce their exclusive high quality. Harmony 6" Natural Latex Mattress

The Harmony 6" natural latex mattress is available in medium, firm, and extra firm. This mattress is made with a 100% pure natural latex core, covered with European organic cotton fabric quilted to organically processed wool from organically raised sheep. The thick layer of wool provides natural flame resistance, and combined with thick organic cotton batting it makes the top more comfortable than manufacturers who use thinner batting to cut costs. The mattress conforms to your body's shape and minimizes pressure on your joints and back. For extra softness, a 2" natural latex topper or 3" wool-filled organic cotton topper may be added. The addition of a topper will not affect support, it only adds to your comfort. When ordering please specify your desired level of firmness:

• Medium: can be used by children up to 80 lb.

Sagittarius 10" & Zeus 13" Multi-layer Natural Latex Mattresses for Custom Comfort

By rearranging plates of various firmnesses of latex you can adjust these mattresses to feel softer or firmer. For larger sizes the plates can be split in half so each person can adjust the firmness to their liking.

The natural rubber plates are individually covered for better support and wear. The flame-retardant, zip-open cover of organic cotton and organic wool is fully quilted for durability and comfort, and can be removed for hand washing, if necessary.

The springy resilient natural wool batting contains an abundance of air. This cotton and wool combination acts to cushion the body and prevents the formation of painful pressure points. Wool also allows your body to breathe freely, while regulating body temperature for an undisturbed and rejuvenating sleep. 'My First Bed' 4" Natural Latex Mattress for Children: $720

This is the least expensive natural latex mattress you can buy while still retaining high quality and 20-year life expectancy. Designed for children one year and up, My First Bed provides very comfortable sleep for kids up to about 80 pounds. At that weight you can buy a 2" latex topper and the bed should last through college! This is the perfect solution for parents who may not have the money to purchase an expensive adult mattress, but still want a non-toxic bed that supports a child without the uncomfortable pressure points caused by innerspring mattresses.

The mattress is constructed with a firm (31 ILD) natural rubber core, covered with water-resistant organic wool moisture pad fabric on the top and sides for protection from wetness. Gemini 4.5" or 6" Futon-style Natural Latex Mattress

Pure-Rest's Gemini models are futon-style mattresses featuring a 2" or 4" natural latex core, surrounded by multiple layers of organic cotton and organic wool. The cover is fully quilted and designed to look just like a regular mattress. This is Pure-Rest's firmest mattresses. Like all futons it will get firmer over time, but the latex core will keep it from matting down into a flat, hard bed.

This mattress can be placed on a futon frame; or on a metal frame with the addition of an optional roll of slats, 3” bunkie board, or standard foundation.

Natural Latex Crib Mattress: $370

Pure-Rest / Ecobaby's chemical-free latex crib mattress features a 4.5" core of extra firm (35 ILD) natural rubber. Covering the core is a layer of thin organic cotton fabric, a thick layer of organic cotton batting, a thick layer of organically processed wool from organically raised sheep, and a layer of premium European organic cotton fabric all quilted together to prevent shifting. This provides a 5.5" to 6" strong, supportive mattress with an even top for safety. Pure-Rest even uses organic cotton quilted with wool on the sides to prevent moisture from reaching the foam inside.

This mattress exceeds U.S. and California flame retardancy guidelines without the addition of a single chemical! It fits standard cribs and meets all safety regulations and CPSC guidelines. We recommend our organic wool puddle pad to protect the mattress from moisture.

Organic Innerspring Mattresses

We generally don't recommend innerspring mattresses for adults due to pressure point discomfort and EMF concerns. Considering the amount of time we spend in bed, we believe purchasing a natural latex mattress is a sound investment in good health. Plus, since natural latex mattresses are more durable than innerspring mattresses, the long term cost of owning one is close to that of an innerspring. However, if budget absolutely prohibits you from purchasing a natural latex mattress at this time, we also carry Pure-Rest organic innerspring mattresses. Though not the optimal solution for health and comfort, these beds are a much healthier choice than any conventional mattress (non-organic innerspring or synthetic latex) you could buy.

For babies, pressure points and EMF issues are less of a problem since infants weigh less and are not as sensitive to pressure points as adults, and their mattress may not magnetize during the 1-2 years that they sleep in a crib. However, the chemicals that off-gas from conventional crib mattresses are highly toxic (see top right column) and we urge every parent to consider an organic innerspring crib mattress if they are unable to purchase one made of natural latex. We are so concerned about this issue that if you truly cannot afford an organic crib mattress, we will subsidize your purchase.
